Aqua Vegetarians

Last week I decided to turn vegetarian for environmental reasons as I wanted to reduce my personal carbon foot print. It had nothing to do with any religious belief or health issues. Everything was going well with my vegetarianism till we went to dine out a few days ago. I went through the menu and there was hardly anything I could opt for. I asked waiter to give me some more time to decide. I thought I need to think outside the box to see the bigger picture of classification of people based on eating habits. First point is, the word "Non-vegetarian" is not correct. It somehow indicates that the group of people who don't eat vegetables are non-vegetarian which is not correct. So called non-vegetarians eat vegetables and in addition to eating vegetable, they eat meat as well. Mathematically speaking, as per set theory, vegetarians and non-vegetarians are not two independent sets of people but vegetarians are a subset of non-vegetarians. Anyway, what is there in the name? Once the majority accepts anything which is incorrect, it becomes the truth. The real point is, this classification was done for social reasons so that managing people with different eating habits be easier in functions and parties. I decided to make my own classification to suit my reasoning. My reason to turn into a vegetarian is environmental and I don't care who eats what. But I do care which group of people are demanding more resources from mother nature. Now, as I came to know, it takes 1000 times more water to bring 1KG of beef to your dining table when compared with 1KG of vegetables. That is true, but what about fish? Fish eaters actually use even less resources than the people who eat only vegetables. That's it. I created one more group Aqua-Vegetarian, A group having least personal carbon foot print. I called the waiter to order my favorite Bloody Mary seafood platter. What a relief!! If you agree with my reasoning, Be a member of my elite group "Aqua-Vegetarians".
